About Us
Simply stated, Seniors for Pets, Inc. improves the lives of needy human seniors in SW Florida by providing basic medical support for their pets. Secondarily when we help our senior clients, we are helping to keep a pet, often an older pet, in the home instead of surrendered to a shelter.

Although this mission helps pets, it differs from traditional animal welfare organizations. We are dealing “first with people” whose lives are measurably improved by the love, companionship, and responsibility offered by their pets. Financial challenges can disrupt this fragile and important relationship. Our mission then is to see that seniors maintain a consistent quality of life by retaining healthy pets.

Seniors for Pets, Inc. locates the ‘seniors’ we help through veterinarians, special volunteers, senior organizations and friends. The family will be qualified through interviews with their veterinarian and their sponsor to make sure we’re fulfilling a genuine need and that they have demonstrated a history of care for their pet(s). We also will make sure that they have considered arrangements for the care of the pet should the pet outlive them. We are committed to reducing future impact on shelters for those pets we’ve helped.
